Currently serving as the Nursing Administrator at Mayo Clinic Health System - Franciscan Healthcare, Gina Von Ruden will share how a rural healthcare system in the Midwest, has implemented digital solutions to improve access, address nurse staffing shortages and foster a new model of care. Nursing has heard the call to innovate and is leveraging digital tools in the acute care setting, as well as across the continuum of care to meet the needs of our patients

Authentic Leadership in Nursing: Find You, Find Joy, and Find Our Way... Together
Andrea Hauser, DNP, RN, CNL Gundersen Health System
Andrea has over a decade of nursing leadership experience and currently serves as the Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Acute Care Nursing in La Crosse for Gundersen Health System. In this session, she will provide a brief review of the current state of nursing. After which, she will use the lens of Authentic Leadership as a guide for participants to learn about who they are as nursing professionals. Through didactic presentation, reflection, and some collective sharing, participants will work to identify their unique personal brand that will help build the bridge to a bright new day in our profession.

Nursing Beyond the Bedside: A Social Determinants of Health Approach
Sandy Brekke, MASL, BSN, RN Gundersen Health System
Health happens out in the community. That means conditions at home, within families, at work and in neighborhoods can play a role in a person’s overall health and well-being. Currently serving as the Senior Consultant to the Office of Population Health at Gundersen Health, Sandy has spent over 30 years navigating the challenges and inequities that individuals need to navigate to achieve a level of health they deserve. Throughout this presentation, participants will be introduced to an approach that allows nurses to provide care, education or leadership in a way that goes beyond any process or protocol.
